Responsibilities
- Analyze our target markets and identify important technical and business trends
- Conduct customer and user focus groups to understand specific business and technical use cases
- Define product plans that are aligned with marketing and engineering objectives and track important metrics including users, usage, cost, customer satisfaction, retention and pricing
- Deliver product requirements, task flow, user interface mock-up documents
- Enable the engineering team with well defined product specifications
- Work with customers to get sample data and testing
- Cultivate loyal customer champions who can provide Skytap with their domain expertise
- Manage external relationships including designers, testers, writers, and service providers
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
- BA/BS in Computer Science or Engineering with excellent academic credentials
- MS from a top tier engineering school is a great plus. New post-graduates are welcome
- 3 to 5 years of post under-graduate experience in engineering, product management roles in the software industry
- Deep technical knowledge of Internet products, virtualization, networking and large scale distributed systems
- Excellent understanding of the cloud computing technologies and enterprise usage
- Proven ability to break complex problems into manageable pieces, develop product priorities and execute release plans to perfection
- Proven ability to create key performance metrics, tracking and reporting
- Knowledge and proficiency in user interface design
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including presenting to large audiences in public forums
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Demonstrated success in a hands-on entrepreneurial environment
