Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

Skytap is looking for a talented senior level Software Development Engineer in Test to join our QA team. Cloud computing is one of today's hottest technologies, and Skytap is leading the way by providing self-service virtual data centers in just a few clicks. As a member of our team, you will be closely working with our developers to make sure the product we deliver is scalable, highly available, and secure. We encourage creativity and initiative. We are looking for individuals with experience testing complex distributed systems. We use agile development techniques, and our service is built primarily on open source software and languages including Linux, Python, and Ruby. Experience with these technologies along with relational databases and scale-out architectures is preferred.

Key responsibilities:

Design and develop new automated test frameworks, focusing on our networking services
Extend existing test frameworks
Work closely with a talented team of engineers and architects
Help resolve major customer technical issues
Assist with release planning

Required background and skills:

BS in Computer Science (or equivalent)
Experience developing test frameworks in modern programming languages
Experience designing and developing automation tools and frameworks for multi-tiered systems
Solid knowledge of load and performance methodologies; experience with traffic generators analysis tools (iperf, httperf, hping3) is a plus
Familiarity with the following networking protocols is strongly preferred: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS
