Scott Roza, Chief Executive Officer

As Skytap’s chief executive officer, Scott is responsible for overall strategy and operational execution. Prior to joining Skytap, Scott was vice president of worldwide OEM and channel sales for HP/Opsware’s Business Service Automation business unit. In October 2007 HP acquired Opsware for $1.6B, where Scott served in the same role. Prior to Opsware Scott was vice president of marketing and business development for iConclude, where he was instrumental in positioning iConclude as the leader in the emerging Run Book Automation space. In this role he also established iConclude’s business relationship with Opsware, the firm that ultimately acquired iConclude for $65 million in early 2007. Prior to iConclude, Scott served as vice president, sales and marketing, for Advanced Digital Information Corporation (ADIC), a $475M public data storage company, where he more than doubled ADIC’s branded business. Scott has also worked as a consultant for McKinsey and Co., and served 5 years in the United States Navy as a Submarine Officer.

Mr. Roza holds a B.S. degree in Marine Engineering from the United States Naval Academy, an M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Maryland, an M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an M.B.A. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School.

John Janakiraman, Chief Technology Officer and Chief Architect

As chief technology officer and chief architect, Dr. G. (John) Janakiraman leads Skytap’s technology strategy and architecture teams. John joined Skytap from HP Labs in Palo Alto, CA where he was the research manager for the Data Center Architecture team. At HP Labs, he and his team developed innovative server virtualization, server architecture, and energy-efficient data center technologies for the next generation of data centers. Most of these innovations were successfully implemented in shipping HP products including XenOprofile and network virtualization enhancements to Xen, energy-efficient adaptive data center cooling in HP Dynamic Smart Cooling, and the modular ccNUMA system architecture based on tightly-coupled memory and point-to-point links within the HP 9000 Superdome server. Dr. Janakiraman has been granted several patents and is a frequent author.

John holds a B.E. in Electrical Engineering and M.Sc. in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India where he was conferred the BITS Gold Medal. He also holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from UCLA.

Sundar Raghavan, Chief Product and Marketing Officer

Sundar Raghavan is the chief product and marketing officer for Skytap and he is responsible for overall product direction, marketing strategy and execution. He is an industry veteran with a successful 18 year career in product and marketing roles at Google, Ariba, Arbor Software (now part of Oracle), and Microstrategy.

Prior to joining Skytap, Sundar was a senior member of the Google Enterprise team responsible for marketing the Postini product line. As vice president of solutions marketing at Postini, he enabled the company’s rapid growth and eventual acquisition by Google. Prior to Postini, Sundar served as the vice president of solutions marketing at Ariba. In that role, he launched Ariba's SaaS roadmap and enabled Ariba's transformation to become the spend management market leader. Sundar joined Ariba through their first acquisition, TradingDynamics, where he lead the product team that created the most successful business-to-business auction platform. Prior to that, he held progressively responsible product roles at Arbor and MicroStrategy.

Sundar holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Science and a MS degree in Computer Systems Engineering from Northeastern University.

Brad Schick, Vice President of Engineering and Operations

As vice president of engineering, Brad Schick leads Skytap’s engineering, quality assurance and operations teams. Brad is a software industry veteran with proven team and corporate leadership skills. Most recently, Brad was founder at Wegos, Inc., an innovative gaming start-up. Prior to Wegos he was the vice president of engineering at Vizrea, which was acquired by Microsoft in 2007. Earlier in his career, Brad worked at Microsoft Corporation, where he led development teams on Windows and Internet Explorer. Brad has also been an instructor at the University of Washington and has a passion for hands-on problem solving and programming at all levels. Brad holds a BSE in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University.

Chris Lawrence, Vice President of Sales (East Region)

As vice president of sales for the East region, Chris is responsible for enterprise sales, customer development and strategic partnerships. Chris joined Skytap with 17 years of experience which has been focused on providing solutions to customer’s business challenges. Prior to joining Skytap Chris was with Quantum, a billion dollar Storage Company focused on backup, recovery, and archive. As Quantum’s Northeast Area Director of Sales, Chris consistently led his team to double digit growth year over year by delivering customer value. Chris was with ADIC (prior to the acquisition by Quantum) where he held positions focused on regional and global accounts.

He established a track record for consistently exceeding customers’ expectations, setting Global standards at Fortune companies, and achieving sales records. Earlier in his career Chris spent a number of years with Compaq Computer Corporation as a training specialist and knowledge adventure.

Chris holds a B.S. degree in Economics and Management Science from SUNY Cortland and an M.B.A. from Clarkson University.

Ian Knox, Senior Director of Product Management

As senior director of product management, Ian is responsible for all aspects of Skytap’s go-to-market strategy, demand generation and product management. Ian joined Skytap from Microsoft Corporation where he was group product manager for Microsoft Visual Studio. In this role, Ian led the product management team responsible for building a new $400M enterprise tools business in the Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) category. Prior to Microsoft, Ian was a Principal Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers where he led global software delivery projects for Fortune 500 clients.

Ian holds a B.Sc. honors degree in Computer Science from the University of Nottingham and an M.B.A from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
