Overview
The Skytap Cloud Library includes pre-built virtual machine images of major operating systems, databases, applications and test tools. The Skytap Cloud Library also includes premium ISV partner content that can be paid for and accessed on demand. This eliminates the need for IT personnel to install baseline images of commonly used software when creating test, training and demo environments, saving hours of manual set-up time. In addition, customers' existing virtual machine images, ISOs and builds can be easily uploaded into their own private area of the Skytap Cloud Library.
Public Content
Any customer with a Skytap subscription can access the public content of the Skytap Cloud Library which includes content populated by Skytap and select partners, such as CohesiveFT. The public library is being continually updated to provide the most commonly used commercial* and open source seed images for virtual machines, including English and international variants. A sample of virtual machine images includes:
- Windows Clients (Vista, XP, etc.)
- Windows Servers (2000, 2003, 2008, 32 and 64 bit etc.)
- Linux (Red Hat Enterprise, Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian, etc.)
- Sun Solaris
- LAMP configurations
- Databases (SQL Server, MySQL etc.)
- Other Servers (Sharepoint, Joomla, etc.)
- Test Tools (JMeter, Selenium etc.)
* Some virtual images require you to provide an MSDN license key to activate the software
Premium ISV partner Content, Testing Products and Tools
The Skytap Cloud Library also includes premium ISV partner content, products and testing tools, with many titles available on a 'pay-per-use' basis. This enables IT organizations to switch software license capital expenses for for 'pay-as-you-go' operational expenses. The current ISV partners and software titles available include:
