The Skytap Solution

Skytap gives SE and consulting organizations immediate access to a full virtual lab solution over the Web. Because it’s a service, it enables consulting and SE organizations to create a hosted, virtual environment for sales demos, customer evaluations and proof-of-concept engagements. These environments can be created, shared and managed from Skytap’s self-service Web application.

Consultants, SEs and customers gain access to environments through a secure Web-based connection. A designated consultant or SE administrator can create custom environments for demos, evaluations and proof-of-concepts. SEs and sales professionals can always access the most up-to-date demo configurations, clone them as needed for different customer engagements, and revert to the orginial saved state once the customer engagement is complete.

Customers can interact with the solution immediately over the Web for evaluation purposes without any software installation or provisioning of on-premise customer hardware. SE and consulting organizations can use Skytap Virtual Lab to quickly demonstrate value to customers from preconfigured deployments and ensure installations are created in a ‘sandbox’ environment before exporting virtual machines to the customer’s on-site environment
