SEATTLE, WA – January 23, 2014 – Skytap, the leading provider of self-service application development environments in the cloud, today introduced its first international data center; located in Singapore and serving customers across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region – including those in Australia, Hong Kong and China. In addition to two existing US-based data centers (US-East and US-West), Skytap’s global footprint now reaches the APAC region.
Singapore is quickly becoming one of the hottest data center hubs in the APAC market, with tech giants including Amazon Web Services, IBM and Salesforce.com adding data centers to the region over the last few years. As a result of this recent growth, the country now accounts for roughly half of South East Asia’s data center capacity, according to the Singapore Economic Development Board.
