Seattle, WA – September 6, 2014 – Skytap, the leading provider of on-demand Environments as a Service (EaaS), today announces a collection of new capabilities that enable enterprises to more easily access, connect, and collaborate using Skytap’s dev/test virtual lab environments on AWS infrastructure. Skytap will offer event attendees a closer look at these capabilities in a hands-on product demonstration at Skytap AWS re:Invent booth #104, on November 11-14.
Skytap’s new AWS capabilities empower enterprises to remove long-standing bottlenecks watering down their efforts—access to environments on demand. On average, 18 days in every release cycle are currently being spent waiting for access to test environments. This leads to long delays, and when those environments become available – they aren’t representative of production scenarios causing further delays. With Skytap’s on-demand dev/test environments on AWS, dev/test teams can instantly leverage virtual labs that mirror production, which can cut up to 2-4 weeks from the software release cycle.
Skytap is making it even easier for enterprise dev/test teams to access, connect, and collaborate with three new AWS support capabilities:
- Dynamic IPSEC VPN: Enables dev/test teams to connect any AWS-based virtual lab environments to on-premise dependent systems with a single click.
- Secure Remote Desktop Client (SRDC): Offers dev/test teams secure HTML5 access to any AWS instance through any desktop or terminal.
- Third-Party URL Sharing: Allows dev/test teams to collaborate safely with third parties by sharing complete AWS environments with fine-grained access controls through URLs, without granting access to the underlying AWS account.
