Top 4 Questions We Heard at SharePoint Conference 2012

Last week, our team was on the ground at the 2012 SharePoint Conference in Las Vegas. It was an ideal forum for professionals looking to increase productivity, learn how to better use SharePoint 2010, and become familiar with the latest features and functionality in the new SharePoint.

We met a lot of people and fielded a lot of great questions. Here are four that came up multiple times. If you didn’t get a chance to stop by the booth, or if you just have an interest in how Skytap Cloud works with SharePoint, here you go:

1) What makes Skytap Cloud so different than all the other clouds out there?

With the number of cloud providers out there, it’s easy to get confused about which services each cloud provider is actually providing. Skytap Cloud provides the ability to create cloud-based virtual environments in seconds. You can run applications without code changes, collaborate with teams globally, and provide your IT team with complete visibility and control.

2) So, what can you do with SharePoint?

With Skytap Cloud you can use the SharePoint farm templates as your team’s central SharePoint platform. Use it to create sites, collaborate on documents, and share information. You can also use the SharePoint farm as a dev/test stack—customize SharePoint websites, use the configuration to test integration of software, or build custom web parts and deploy them to the farm. You can also use it as a demo and training environment to deploy your SharePoint products.

3) What SharePoint templates do you have in Skytap Cloud?

We offer SharePoint 2010 and 2013 templates. We also have over 100 templates in our full library, including GitLab, Jenkins, and a CloudFoundry dev stack. And the library continues to grow.

4) How can I test your product?

You can go to our website and take a Skytap Cloud tour or contact us and chat with one of our experts. Our cloud solution architects are available for hands-on assistance and can walk you through any part of the set-up or trial process.

If you have any specific questions on how our product enables SharePoint, feel free to pose them in the comments sections below, or get in touch with one of our cloud solutions architects.
