Self-Service Solutions
When a global user connects to the Skytap Cloud, they are authenticated over a secure HTTPS connection. Once they are authenticated, Skytap establishes their role based permissions and enforces user and organization specific security, usage and budget policies. Using the same mechanism, IT professionals can connect to the Skytap Cloud. Based on their role, Skytap empowers them to set-up virtual data center templates, security policies, usage limits and manage quota. IT professionals can also securely connect Skytap cloud data centers to their enterprise data centers using IPSec VPN tunnels.
Skytap Cloud Automation Platform
The Skytap Cloud Automation platform enables organizations to simplify IT management and implement centralized policy management and control over multiple self-service solutions.
Using the IT management features, functional users or IT professionals can standardize the cloud environments, automate the provisioning process, manage users groups that reflect organizational hierarchy, and monitor cloud usage. They can customize the machine hardware, software, network and security policies to match their own corporate standards. Because each virtual data center is isolated from all others, customers can run multiple environments in parallel.
Using the IT policy management and control features, functional users or IT managers can create role based security policies, usage policies at a user, project or group level and conduct comprehensive audits. IT managers can also manage usage quotas at a project, user or group level.
Using a secure, 2-way IPSEC VPN tunnel, IT professionals can connect their own virtual data centers to their corporate data centers.
