Seattle, WA —September 20, 2023—The Business Intelligence Group today announced that it has awarded Skytap a 2023 Stratus Award for Cloud Computing in its annual business award program. The organization sought to identify the companies, products and people that are offering unique solutions that take advantage of cloud technologies.

Skytap was recognized for its groundbreaking infrastructure-as-as-service that makes it possible to get business-critical applications out of the data center and into the cloud. The 2023 Stratus Award is testament to the fact that Skytap’s cloud environment offers organizations of all sizes the ability to unlock cloud scale, agility, and value-added native cloud services for specialized workloads without long, costly migration projects.

“Skytap is one of the leaders in the cloud, helping to develop the infrastructure we need to store and host the data and applications driving our society,” said Maria Jimenez, Chief Nominations Officer of Business Intelligence Group. “We are so proud to recognize all of the winners in this year’s award program.”

Skytap’s business has accelerated throughout 2023 as it continues to experience growing enterprise demand for moving IBM Power systems to the cloud. One study from Panorama Data Insights estimates the global cloud computing market size is estimated to reach $211.47 billion in 2030. Furthermore, Gartner predicts that spending on public cloud services will exceed 45% of all enterprise IT spending by 2026. Skytap is now available in eight Azure regions worldwide and seven IBM Cloud regions with expansion planned for 2024.

“We’re thrilled to be named a global leader in cloud computing by the Business Intelligence Group,” said Lee Jiles, Skytap SVP of Sales and Marketing. “This recognition is testament to our game-changing cloud capabilities as an unprecedented number of enterprises look to migrate and run specialized workloads in the public cloud.”
