Rather than send out “traditional” holiday gifts to our amazing customers, this year we decided to start a new tradition—giving to a local Seattle charity on our customers’ behalf. Our customers certainly make our lives better, and we aim to do the same for them, so we thought that working together to make a positive impact on even more lives this holiday season would be an awesome thing to do.
We chose Treehouse, a local charity here in Seattle as the perfect place to support. Treehouse aims to “level the playing field for youth in foster care,” and they do so by “investing in the support young people deserve, no matter their circumstances.”
Treehouse has an awesome resource that they call, “The Wearhouse.” From their website:
The Treehouse Wearhouse is a free store where youth and their caregivers can shop for high quality new and like-new clothing, shoes, school supplies, toys, books and other essentials. We carry clothes for infants, children and teens in all sizes. We work closely with our community to ensure that items in the store reflect current trends, brands and fashions along with the basics every kid needs.
We decided to help keep the Wearhouse stocked by hitting the stores, picking up shopping carts full of this season’s hottest toys, and donating them in our customers’ names to Treehouse.
