IBM InterConnect is right around the corner, and for those of you lucky enough to attend, how do you decide which of the week’s 2,000+(!) sessions and activities to take part in? We’ve scoured the entire agenda and picked out some of the events that we’re most excited about in hopes of helping you build out your own calendar. We hope to see you there, and if you see anyone walking around in Skytap gear, introduce yourself—we’d love to chat and see how you’re enjoying the show!
House of Blue Cocktail Reception
For anyone who missed out on the party we threw last year at IBM InterConnect—we’re doing it again! Back by popular demand, we’ve invited The Spazmatics to perform at House of Blues, and we’ll provide complimentary beverages and appetizers to keep the party going. RSVP now, because space is limited.
Skytap CTO Brad Schick in Two IBM InterConnect Sessions
Obviously, we’re a little biased, but our own Brad Schick will be returning to the stage at IBM InterConnect this year in two exciting sessions on Wednesday, March 22nd. Brad will be joined by IBM’s Erik Anderson, and NBCUniversal’s John Comas to present, “The How and Why of Application Modernization and Delivery.” Brad, Erik, and John will demonstrate how “leveraging methodologies like DevOps and agile alongside cloud-native services and containerization, enables traditional applications to be more easily modernized without risking everything that depends on them.”
Immediately following this session, Brad will be joined by representatives from IBM, Bendigo and Adelaide Bank, and KPN for a panel discussion on “Managing the Hybridity of Hybrid Cloud.” Learn the “implications of multi-speed IT and dealing with legacy, cloud-enabled, and cloud-ready workloads” and bring your own questions and unique scenarios to this open discussion with the audience.
Other Can’t Miss Sessions
IBM InterConnect is full of phenomenal sessions, but there are a number that we’re really excited about because they speak not just to our core messaging here at Skytap, but to a number of challenges and goals in the enterprise today. Below are just a few where there is guaranteed to be an engaged audience present:

Stop by Skytap Booth #331 for a Sneak Peak of IBM AIX in the Cloud!
We recently made a major announcement—the upcoming availability of AIX On-Demand Instances. For the first time ever, enterprises can rapidly migrate, develop, and deploy AIX workloads running on Power Systems side-by-side with Linux and Windows workloads running on x86 architecture. We’ll be demoing this breakthrough technology at IBM InterConnect for the first time publicly, so be sure and stop by our booth to see it in action for yourself.
There are simply too many activities we’re looking forward to at this year’s IBM InterConnect; we definitely hope it’s a fantastic week for all who attend. Be sure and visit the Skytap blog again after the show wraps up for a recap of the week’s big announcements, and new episodes of The Skytap Podcast featuring some of the week’s most popular presenters!
