This week, we added two new templates to the Skytap Cloud public template library.
Our first template is the CentOS 6.3 x64 OS. CentOS 6.3 is the latest version, and you can read all about it in the CentOS release notes. The template has been set up for a nice out-of-the-box experience and will prompt you for only a couple of things (like username/password), then you’ll be off and running with this new version.
Our second template is actually a multi-VM template. It consists of a Microsoft Windows Active Directory Server and a Microsoft SharePoint 2013 Foundation Server Preview. That’s right, by deploying this multi-VM template, you’ll be playing with the latest version of Microsoft’s SharePoint Server 2013 Preview in a matter of minutes. You can read more about the Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 Preview at the TechNet Evaluation Center and, if you’d like, you can see how we installed it all. Lucky for you we didn’t do any of the post-installation steps, which include things like configuring data collection and search settings. We’ve left those alone so you can get your feet wet with this new preview of SharePoint 2013.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch with Skytap Support or your Skytap representative. And check out this Getting Started with the New Skytap Cloud SharePoint 2013 Template follow-up blog post.
Until next week,
Matt
